Today's Fact: Life Goes On!

Yes, it's true. You might be under the impression that life will end pretty quickly, and while that is certainly a possibility (depending on where you are and what you are doing right now), the chances are immensely greater that you will wake up tomorrow, alive, yet again, and that this will keep happening for longer than you think. It's a good argument for paying attention to your future self.

Case in point: When I started this blog, over 10 years ago, I thought I would keep doing it. But, after 3 posts, I stopped.

Who could have guessed that I would write a new post today, of all days, 12 years later? Not me! I mean, I could have imagined the POSSIBILITY of me being alive, but possibilities don't act the same way in your mind as does the immediate present.

So the lesson is, plan for your future. Expect to be alive, and to need money. Don't assume the worst will happen, but realize that one day, THIS will be your present, and everything you worried about will be memories.

Today's Fact: You Can Wear Socks!

If you've spent much time watching people in public lately, you've probably noticed that almost everyone wears shoes. But did you know that you can buy tubes of cloth for your feet, called "socks," at almost any store that sells clothes? "Socks" were invented more than 1000 years ago, and they are PERFECT for keeping your tootsies warm and comfy when they're crammed inside a shoe all day! They come in various colors and thicknesses, so you need never settle for unappealing ones. And best of all, they're fairly inexpensive. Just remember: as with shoes, it's customary to wear socks that match (i.e.,that were sold together as a pair and look alike). FACT!

Today's Fact: Rain is Water!

It's a fact: when it "rains," those are actually little drops of (you guessed it) water, or "H2O," falling from the sky! So, don't be afraid if some accidentally gets into your mouth. It's perfectly safe to eat or drink. (Just don't go around sticking your head in a bucket of it, though.)

Today's Fact: Don't Drown!

It's easy to underestimate the power of moving water. You should NEVER drive across a flooded roadway or a flowing stream. Instead, turn around and find higher ground. Stay there.
